Interest Groups: STEM-related Entrepreneurship

STEM-related Entrepreneurship is a special interest group organized under the auspices of the Articles of Incorporation of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) to promote and encourage the development and advancement of programs and services in the specific entrepreneurship field and to provide a forum for information exchange.

Provide the best available materials and approaches to our members for STEM-Related entrepreneurial education and practice.


Leadership of the Group is elected annually by the Group membership; questions relative to Group mission, membership; annual work program and objectives should be directed to the following member of the leadership team:

Our members are comprised of academicians and practitioners. In some cases we have members who are both. We have a fair number of scientists, engineers, technology transfer professions and technology-oriented entrepreneurs.
Annually as an element of the Association’s strategic planning process, the Group develops a work plan that outlines goals and objectives for the program year. Outlined below are annual goals and objectives adopted by the Group.

Objectives - We plan to collect, disseminate and provide training/leadership to our members through the following instruments:

o Cases
o Simulations
o Articles
o Textbooks
o Studies
o Pedagogy
o Best Practices
o Exercises

Goals - Collect and disseminate (through website, Dropbox or equivalent) the following:

o 50 case studies
o 5 simulations
o 10 textbooks
o 10 exercises
o 20 articles

Hold 6 bimonthly conference calls for the group.
